We want to let you know we are OPEN to provide care for our patients during the COVID-19 shut down...
We are offering curbside service for appointments. Simply call when you arrive for your appointment and we will come out to your car to obtain history. After that, we will bring your pet into the clinic to perform our exam and necessary diagnostics. Then we will return your pet to you when these things are completed. Within the clinic we are deep cleaning and disinfecting more vigilantly than ever. We are also limiting elective procedures in an effort to conserve our medical resources. In addition we may be able to provide phone consultation services in some circumstances.
Please do not hesitate to call if you have further questions.
Wishing good health to all,
from the Doctors and Staff at Tassajara Veterinary Clinic
If you’re looking for a dedicated, compassionate Danville veterinary practitioner, look no further! Here at Tassajara Veterinary Clinic, everything single thing we do is captured in our motto, “Where Caring for Pets is What We Do Best!” And when we care, it’s for the entire road on which your pet travels. We are a full service, completely equipped, small companion animal clinic designed to provide preventive care for young, healthy pets, early detection and treatment of problems in the older pet, and complete medical and surgical care as necessary anywhere along the line. Here’s what we’re committed to doing for your pet.
The yearly wellness exam is the ticket to your pet’s good health and the number one ingredient in preventive veterinary medicine. During your pet’s annual wellness exam, we literally examine him or her from head to toe and everywhere in between. You’re included, too! We’ll talk with you about your pet’s general behavior, diet, exercise, and any concerns you have. We then perform a complete external physical exam, checking the eyes, ears, nose and teeth. We palpate the abdomen looking for any organ issues. We look at the legs, see how the pet moves, and note any muscle or skeleton problems. We check the heart rate and perhaps draw blood to see if there are any lurking, unseen issues.
Vaccinations equal prevention, an essential ingredient in your pet’s happy, healthy and long life. There are two categories of vaccines: core and non-core. As the name implies, the core vaccines are those that protect your dog or cat from dangerous, life-threatening diseases. For dogs these include rabies, parvovirus, canine distemper, and canine hepatitis. For cats they are: rabies, feline panleukopenia (distemper), feline herpes virus and calicivirus (respiratory infections). The non-core vaccines depend upon the kinds of activities and places you go with your pet. These are often administered during the wellness exam.
Pet Dental Care
The importance of dental care is often underestimated. The mouth and teeth are the gateway to the internal organs of your pet and therefore, proper dental care contributes to good overall health. Regular dental care is a key piece in the prevention package.
If your pet needs any kind of surgery including spaying, neutering, orthopedic or soft tissue, we have a modern surgical suite and expert veterinary surgeons that perform competent, sterile procedures using the latest technology and protocols.
In addition, we offer expertise in dermatology, treatment for cancer, nutritional counseling, parasite prevention, and microchipping. We also have our own ultrasound and digital x-ray equipment as well as our own lab.
