About

Transforming Lives Through Health & Wellness
As a community based organization dedicated to prevent the spread of HIV, we offer a variety of services including a drop-in clinic for trans youth and a wellness center for people without insurance.

APEB's mission is to prevent new HIV infections and to support individuals living with the virus through programs prioritizing some of the most vulnerable and marginalized individuals. Providing culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, and effective services to all persons and communities in Alameda County living with and at risk for HIV infection.

Wellness Center

Through a partnership with the UCSF School of Nursing, APEB's clinic provides primary care, comprehensive sexual health care, including STI, HIV, and Hepatitis C screening, prevention, and treatment. We also offer rapid treatment initiation and PEP and PrEP. Scheduled appointments and drop-ins are available every Thursday between noon and 4 p.m.

Housing

The Bay Area faces a severe housing crisis. Affordable and low-income housing options are in short supply in the Bay Area. Case management services are offered to encourage housing stability and prevent homelessness.

Drop In Center

The Den at APEB provides a safe space for our LGBTQIA community (with programs for people of all ages and genders) to relax and attend support groups for those dealing with issues at home. We are here to listen and be a backbone to our peers in the community.  We also host dance sessions. There are two TVs to watch shows and movies, and two computers where our guests can work on resumes, apply to jobs, and do homework.

Training

APEB's expert staff is available to present workshops to community groups and service providers interested in learning about sexual health, serving key populations, new and emerging HIV prevention and treatment options, and cultural competency.
