John Bentley's Restaurant
New American Cuisine • Warm, Unpretentious Service John Bentley's in Redwood City, California, features Seasonal American Cuisine served in a sophisticated, comfortable setting. Though there are new features, like a full bar and two ample spaces for private dining, and the setting is more urban and sumptuous, the focus at John's Redwood City location remains the same: The care and quality of ingredients used in John's cooking, combined with warmth and detailed attention of his staff, combine to make his Redwood City restaurant a favorite among guests and critics. "My training is in classical French cuisine, though I've adapted traditional techniques to suit contemporary tastes. We work with local farmers, ranchers, and fisher-people to bring the highest quality, freshest, seasonal fare to our table, and we work without much butter or cream in order to focus the flavors of each ingredient. The ambiance is rustic and cozy, yet elegant enough to enhance your enjoyment of a fine dining experience. Two private dining rooms available: Downstairs: up to 24 guests Upstairs: up to 48 guests (30 with Presentation) "After you've worked in this business long enough, you and your food become a reflection of everyone you ever worked with. Most of all, by cooking what we ourselves love to eat, we share our passion and our experience with our guests." John says, "The thing I'm proudest about is that our service and our service staff are fantastic. We take pride in being able to do whatever the customer needs." A "tempting array" of "heavenly", "farm-fresh" cuisine ... at this "warm, inviting" Redwood City Californian from the eponymous chef-owner; a "terrific" staff and "fine selection of wines" help make it ripe "for that special occasion", but it's also "great for a good meal any time." - Zagat Guide Don’t Give Us The Silent Treatment… Please Let Us Know You Found Us At GayPinkSpots.com Gay & Lesbian (LGBT) Friendly Restaurant

Best Fine Dining Ever!
Whenever I feel like having a really nice dinner at a really nice restaurant I always choose John Bentley's. I've tried a few different dishes but I usually stick with my go to's: watermelon crab salad and the veal medallions with lingon berries and brie....my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!
A+ except for parking
First time here and very solid place, fancy but too much so and with very solid food. Imagine the Village Pub dressed down a bit on dropped on El Camino and boom, you have it.
The Manila clam special was amazing. The hangar steak was superb. Service attentive and sufficiently formal. Overall very good.
Only downside: the parking. If you miss the turn off it is very unforgiving to get back into the lot.
